Alameer Rosenje

The Woodcutter

“The Woodcutter” is a story of resilience told through garment construction. Inspired by Alameer Rosenje’s experience cutting wood as a means of survival at 13, this collection transforms manual labor into a symbol of self-invention and quiet power. Rooted in the philosophy of “chop wood, carry water,” the collection reflects the discipline, repetition, and craftsmanship required to overcome adversity. Industrial textiles, workwear elements, and wood-based fibers are reimagined through a futurist, avant-garde lens. Drawing from Nigerian scarification practices and militant visual codes, the pieces honor both ancestral resilience and individual evolution. “The Woodcutter” exists between solitude and connection, making space for those who have fought for their right to be seen, and who wear their story with pride.
